Explore who you are without fear of judgment.
As a lesbian counselor, Teresa understands the importance of working with someone who appreciates the experiences, challenges, and strengths that can accompany life as a sexual minority.
Whether you are questioning your identity, navigating coming out, exploring relationships, healing from religious or family rejection, or working through internalized shame, counseling offers room to be honest and fully seen.
Teresa's approach is grounded in respect, curiosity, and affirmation. Her role is not to tell you who to become, but to support you as you discover and embrace who you truly are.
Individual or addiction counseling?
You do not have to
choose the perfect label.
Individual counseling begins with your whole life: what is hurting, what is changing, what matters to you, and what you want to understand or do differently.
Addiction counseling brings substance use or another compulsive pattern into clearer focus. Together, you may explore triggers, cravings, shame, consequences, recovery supports, relapse risk, and the needs the pattern has been trying to meet.
The two often overlap. Trauma, identity, relationships, grief, and addiction do not arrive in separate boxes. Teresa can help you decide where to begin and adjust the focus as the work unfolds.

Mindfulness & practical skills
Pause. Notice.
Choose differently.
Mindfulness creates space between an overwhelming feeling and the next choice.
Teresa frequently incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier relationships. These tools can help calm the nervous system and support intentional responses rather than automatic reactions.
She also integrates somatic awareness, recognizing that trauma is experienced in the body as well as the mind. The goal is not to eliminate uncomfortable emotions, but to develop the confidence and skills to move through them with greater ease.
